Rapping

       Do you know what a rap is, and how to rap?

This week on Monday we were learning to rap with a book called Fox in socks. 

We had to rap with a Doctor Suess book and put music behind our rap. 

We also had to get into groups of four I went with Noah, Dev, Alicia.

It was lots of fun.



 

 

THE TAIRAWHITI MUSEUM TRIP!!!

In term 4 week one room 2 went to the museum we got to feel and look at some of the things in the museum we did some art and we had to first grab a picture and trace it with a pencil and then we had to use a long skinny stick with a pointy end to trace over the pencil line and and then we picked a color and paint over the picture and then put a piece of paper over the art and the picture and the picture that I traced was on to the peace of paper.

I enjoyed doing the art because it was fun doing something new at the museum because normily I just look around at the things in the museum and I also enjoyed the nice comments about my art and making people happy by telling them that there art looks good.😊😊   

I found it hard to rush my drawing because we were about to go back to school  an it was hard tracing the pencil line so I had to do it very slowly which took me a long time.

Next time I need focusse on my art and not wasted time looking over at other people's art to get ideas and only keep my eyes on my art and not talking to my friends Tia and Zoe.

Snow

 

                             We were learning to paint a picture for a reader by using similes, verbs and                                                   adjectives we also had to write what we can hear, see, feel, smell, and what do you feel                                   about the winter weather.

                             I found it easy to find a cute snowman background and to write adjectives about my                                       winter weather story and to write about what I can see and hear and what do you feel                                     about the winter weather.

                             I found it hard to write about what can I smell because snow does not really smell and                                    there  are not many other thing to smell I also found it hard to write about what can you                                  feel because the only thing could think of is snow.

                             Next time I need to find a better way to write about what I can smell and hear and                                   work faster so that I can get it finished and move on to more of my work that needs                               to be finished.

The little curled koru!!

 



We were learning to write about a koru and describe what it looks like  and what it is.And to write a good sentences that describes what happens and what they do.  


I found it easy to upload a koru background and the to write adjective about what happens to the koru and what the do.I also found it easy to describe the koru and what it looks and how it curls into a ball and unwarps like a blooming flower. 


I found it hard to write a simile and verb about the koru and to choose the right color to make it stand out so that people can read it.


Next time I need to manage my time a effectively so I can get my work done more quickly.And to sit by people how will help me get my work done and encourage me to keep going.

What make a good blog comment.

 

We were learning  to recognise a quality blog comment and give reasons for our thinking.I found it easy to comment  a positive thought and helpful comment to make people think about using different things on their blog.I found it hard to choose which one is bad and with one is a good  comment and to make sore that I got it right.Next time I need to work with a buddy that I have not work with befor to see how  I work better with.

Human Caterpillar

We were learning to make a human caterpillar.First we had to grab a handful of news paper ,  3 sellotape and 3 pairs of szers . Second we put all the paper into a line then we stacked more  newspapers on it. Third we had to get a long piece of sellotape and wrap it round the newspapers so that they would all stick together.

I found it easy to stack the paper on top of each other and taping the newspapers together and working with my team to try and make the human caterpillar.  It was also easy  to walk it the human caterpillar by putting my hands above my head so that the newspapers wouldn't rip.

I found it hard to flip the paper over without ripping it on the other side because only one newspaper was sellotaped so the over side just kept sliding off so we had to keep fixing it. And having to make each end touch so that there would be the top of the human caterpillar.

I really enjoyed working together as a team and working together to move in the human caterpillar and how everyone walking at the same past so that the newspapers didn't rip and seeing what it would look like once we were finished.

Next time I  need to think of a better strategy.

We were learning to create media by making a road safety advertisement for road safety week. I was also learning to use mahi tahi to work together with others. 

                      I found it easy to work with my teammates and make the video and to watch them try not to laugh.

Reflecting on my writing

 


For our writing we have been writing Narratives. We have been learning to add a great hook in or opening line to our writing and to start our sentences in different ways.

This week we also had to have a smile and alliteration in our writing. This slide shows my hook in, sentence beginnings, simile and alliteration.

We are using our Kaiwhakarite/Self Manager learning asset by reflecting on our learning.

PB4L - Respect


We were learning about whakaute. We had to show what that means at Mangapapa.  We use our behaviour matrix.We had to take a photo of us picking up rubbish and moving around respectfully and keeping our hands. and feet to our self.
I enjoyed working with my friends and and getting outside and taking photos even though it did take a long  time to take the photos.I also enjoyed choosing the colours for the background and choosing the colours for the words.
I found it hard to choose what we were going to do for the photo and we also found hard to choose who would go in what photo.
I found it easy to take the photos and write the words and stand or sit still and I enjoyed choosing the right  photo that my friends liked.
Next time I need to work with my friends and make the first photo look good so the we don't waste time and to  choose who went in the photos.

School Triathlon

Thursday 18/3/2021 was Triathlon day. I had been practicing a  lot with my friends / school. We had been running round the the block.  My friend Zoe and her mum and I had gone on a big bike ride up a very steep hill but the fun part was going down the hill and I have been practicing in my pool backstroke and freestyle.

I found it easy to do the run because everyone was just jogging so that they don't waste their energy. So it was easy to over take people and I liked going on the bike because I had time to catch my breath.

I found it hard to do the swim because by then my arms and legs were very tired and it made me feel like I was going to drown.  The bike also made my legs tired because I had just done a run that was very long.

I really enjoyed how the swim was at the end because I was very hot and the pool was nice and cold and I also enjoyed finishing the race.


      



Te Whare Tapa Wha Connection Map

 

We were learning about TE WHARE TAPA WHA. We had to make our connection map using google slides.

I found it easy to get the pictures of google😽😽 and searcheded them up like cats / kittens and food and fings I like to do.

I found it hard to find the word REACH because there were none of them on google.

I really enjoyed showing my connections.
